How does Therapy work?
As a therapist, I work with clients to help them improve their mental health and wellbeing. Before our first therapy session, I offer a complimentary 30 minute start-up consultation. This can be virtual or in person to decide if we have the 'right chemistry' to work together and to confirm that therapy is appropriate.
Sometimes it's easier to talk to a professional than family or friends. During therapy, I listen to you and we work together to find answers to your problems - in private, confidentially and without judgement.
Each therapy session is 1-2-1 and lasts approximately 60 minutes. They'll usually be completed face-to-face, but you might prefer to work together via Zoom, Skype, FaceTime etc or even just over the telephone. You will have the time and space to think , talk, consider options, make choices and take action.
It's an opportunity to look at your problems in a different way with someone who will respect you, listen to your experiences and understand your needs.
Will therapy fix my problems?
The main aim of therapy is to help you feel better. We'll work together to:
Let Go - of negative emotions such as Anger, Sadness, Fear, Hurt, Guilt and Anxiety.
Take Action - to build confidence, motivation, energy, commitment and other important personal attributes.
Move Forward - create a positive future with a strong sense of purpose through personal goals, actions and outcomes.
